McAllen 2007 - Wednesday June 20th Update
Greetings from the
South! Well it is just about 8:00am this Thursday morning, and we are
getting ready for our final day of work and Bible clubs. Yesterday was
truly an amazing day! Our students worked so hard during the work
project, and most of the projects are nearing completion. When today
comes to a close we will have resurfaced/reconstructed an outdoor
stage/deck, painted the outdoor trim on the church, taped and bedded the
front half of the church as well as primed, added two new flower beds,
cleaned up the general landscaped area, painted a house, and installed
an a/c! Our students are also displaying a Christ-like love for the
families who are hosting our Bible clubs. The students collected money
totaling over $300.00! With that our students are giving one of the host
families gifts for the three kids who live at the home such as bikes and
gifts for the teenage daughter, and a Wal-Mart gift card for the
family's needs. The other host family will be receiving a Wal-Mart gift
card to be used as needed. Yesterday's Bible clubs were simply amazing!
The relationships our students are building proved to be influential
yesterday as we had over 10 children accept Christ. Our student are
using the Evangecube tract, and we saw God work as some of the children
were taking the cube after accepting Christ, and then sharing what just
happened to the other children, taking them through the plan of
salvation. I'm excited to see what today holds in store as we close out
are time here in the Rio Grande Valley. Thank you so much for your
prayers and support. We'll see you soon!
Coram Deo, Chris
