McAllen 2007 - Tuesday June 19th Update
Good Morning! Well
the students are rustling about as we get ready to head out to our work
project this morning. We have decided to work in the morning instead of
the afternoon to try to stay out of the heat. Yesterday's work projects,
and Bible clubs were a great success. Our students displayed an
unbelievable spirit of humility and selflessness as they worked
yesterday, with temperatures reaching over 100! We began the
reconstruction of the outdoor stage/deck the church has, we sanded some
old putty on some walls in order to smooth the walls out as we will
begin taping and bedding the sheet rock today. We mowed, weed eated, and
planted a new flower bed. Some of our students also headed over to one
of the houses that hosts one of our Bible clubs. They scraped the old
paint off the house, and began to lay a base coat of primer. We also
installed a new wall unit a/c in the master bedroom. Today we will
continue on the same projects with hopes of completion tomorrow. As for
our Bible clubs, we had 86 children between our two locations yesterday,
and the relationships our students our starting to build are really
becoming evident. All over the Bible clubs you could hear the murmur of
our students saying, "I love you, and God loves you". I am
excited to see how the Lord will move in hearts of these children.
Please be in prayer
for us today as we continue to work, and plant the seeds of salvation in
many kids' lives. Check back tomorrow for more updates. Until then….
Coram Deo, Chris |
